CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA

 

100,000 sqft, three-phase project intended to significantly modernize the existing CHS campus, adding new 2-story classroom bars with updated technology, computer and ‘flex lab’ spaces to allow for future curriculum changes.

Designed to create a more cohesive campus environment, strengthening the central quad, increasing security and the overall quality of the student experience. Informal outdoor gathering areas take advantage of the mild coastal climate.

 

District, teacher and student input helped guide the design, while working within the constraints of the exising campus.

 

I was fortunate enough to work on the project for over three years from the beginning of the planning and programming phases through design and construction documents, followed by construction administration. The true reward of the project was the appreciation from the students at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
